The Hermon Slade Foundation

The Australian and Pacific Science Foundation
This privately endowed Foundation was established in 2000. The Foundation awards grants to encourage high quality research by scientists in institutions in Australia and similar institutions in other countries of the south west Pacific.

Swiss Orchid Foundation at the Herbarium Jany Renz
Following the death of Dr.Jany Renz in 1999, the University of Basel received his herbarium and library by legacy. The Swiss Orchid Foundation was established on October 3th, 2001 to maintain this cultural and scientific heritage. The BibliOrchidae of Rudolf Jenny has also been integrated onto this web site.

Specialist Groups

Australasian Native Orchid Society Inc.
ANOS is dedicated to the cultivation, conservation and scientific study of native orchids in the Australasian region. The official publication ‘The Orchadian’ is produced bimonthly.

ANOS Victorian Group Inc.
Conducts formal monthly meetings, field trips, conservation programs, pertaining to the native orchids of Australasia. There is something for everyone interested in the orchids of Australasia.

Australian Orchid Council Inc
Founded in 1960 the AOC is the national orchid body in Australia and is the publisher of the highly acclaimed orchid magazine ‘Orchids Australia’.

Orchid Societies Council of Victoria
Formed in 1992 to coordinate the activities of various Victorian orchid societies and to act as a forum at state level.

The Orchid Club of South Australia Inc.
Established in 1939 and offering evening and day time meetings for members.

The Orchid Society of Canberra Inc.
Formed in 1983 to exchange information and provide assistance with orchid growing in Canberra conditions.

The Orchid Society of N.S.W.
Founded in 1934, the OSNSW conducts monthly meetings and provides a forum for discussion and fellowship for orchid growers.

The Orchid Society of Western Australia
Founded in 1946 and sharing knowledge among members through friendship.

The Queensland Orchid Society Inc.
Promoting good fellowship among all people interested in orchid culture and horticulture generally.

The Tasmanian Orchid Society Inc.
Started in 1947 as the Hobart Orchid Society the Tasmanian Orchid Society is the oldest orchid society in Tasmania. The greenhood orchid is the official emblem of the society.
