The book covers all 202 species and 30 genera of orchids found in the region. Each species is covered in detail, with one page per species and 2-5 photos showing different parts of the plant. Each of the genera are introduced in detail, including information on taxonomy, ecology, pollination and mycorrhizal fungi.

The book now covers the entirety of the Canberra Nature Region, from Young to the Victorian border and from Nerriga to Cootamundra, making it an ideal companion for orchid enthusiasts, field naturalists and citizen scientists alike.
